SQA Transform: Producing in excess of 10,000 test data records
When dealing with large amounts of data for customers, their addresses, payment data, Sanctions Lists, PEPs lists; a simple flexible ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) tool is required. There are many such tools on the market, each providing a massive wealth of facilities.
SQA Transform is an uncomplicated, but effective transformation tool that allows our consultants to transform files between formats expediently enabling complete regression and repeatability. It is a command line tool that takes as input a single file (with associated DDL), and as output a single file (with DDL). Optionally, a mapping configuration can also be supplied. With no mapping configuration the equivalent named fields are mapped from Source to Target. When a mapping configuration is applied, more complex mappings can be made, such as multiple source fields mapped to a single target field etc.
Filtering of data can be performed on both the input and output data, and sampling can be done to create a randomly selected set of test data. Because SQA Transform is an easy to use command line tool available on desktop/laptop windows and Linux machines, and also on Linux and UNIX servers, it can be deployed very quickly. This enables the SQA consultants to proceed through their tasks without having to engage with ETL teams on-site to perform rudimentary file transformations.
SQA Transform is built to facilitate the work SQA Consultants engage in for Sanctions / PEPs Screening work. This is typically around handling large files in multifarious formats. It allows a configuration to be made and repeatedly run. It is configured by a single XML file, this controls the mapping between the source and target.
